Mo Perkins Film & Television Director
Mo Perkins is an award-winning feature film and television director.
She wrote and directed her first feature, a character drama called A QUIET LITTLE MARRIAGE (Mary Elizabeth Ells, Cy Carter, Jimmi Simpson, Michael O’Neill, Charlie Day and Melanie Lynskey). It won the Grand Jury Award at SLAMDANCE and was distributed by IFC.
Her second feature was a comedy called THE LAST TIME YOU HAD FUN (Demetri Martin, Eliza Coupe, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Charlene Yi, Jimmi Simpson and Kyle Bornheimer). It premiered at LAFF, won awards on the festival circuit and was distributed by Gravitas.
Most recently Mo directed episode 6, season 2 of the sci-fi drama MANIFEST for NBC and every episode in season 2 of the romantic musical comedy I SHIP IT for the CW.
She earned an MFA in directing from UCLA. Her thesis film, PISS HAT, was nominated for a Student Academy Award. She’s an alumnus of the Ryan Murphy Half Initiative, WeForShe, WB TV Workshop, Sony TV Directors’ Program, the Film Independent Writer’s Labs and the DGA WSC Squad Mentorship Program with Nicole Kassell as her mentor. Mo co-created a series with Amber Benson based on Amber’s books THE WITCHES OF ECHO PARK, which they sold as a pitch to AGC Studios. It was developed by AGC with Mo and Amber writing and Catherine Hardwicke on board to direct. Currently Mo is preparing to direct a new comedy feature, THE WIDOWER, which she wrote and is being produced by Jake, Lucy and Danny DeVito for Jersey 2nd Ave.
